The Club is governed by an elected Management Committee that meets on a monthly basis to formulate development strategies and conduct the day-to-day running of the Club's affairs.

Townsville & James Cook University Rowing Club is an incorporated body. The AGM is held within 6 months of the end of the Club’s previous financial year (31 October).
Affiliation with Rowing Queensland
Townsville & JCU Rowing Club is an affiliated member of Rowing Queensland, the peak body for rowing in Queensland.
