The Townsville Turn-Around is a fun 7 km time trial event open to the following boat classes: Eights, Fours, Quads, Doubles, Pairs, Singles.
Participants head off one at a time from the Townsville & JCU Rowing Club pontoon, rowing down to Aplin's Weir and back as fast as they can.
There are two ways to participate in this event:
Competitive racing: You can be part of the official race if you have competitive level Rowing Queensland registration. Crew eligible for prizes and placings. The $15 seat fee includes breakfast.
Training experience & social participation: For recreational rowers and those currently undertaking a Learn to Row who have either Recreational or Limited level Rowing Queensland registration. Crews containing these rowers are not eligible for prizes or placings. No seat fee, $5 breakfast contribution.
All entrants must be a current member of a Queensland rowing club on the day of the event.
